HURTIGRUTEN - NORWEGIAN COASTAL VOYAGE
The Norwegian Coastal Voyage has been described as "The most beautiful voyage in the world"
A Hurtigruten cruise is the ideal way to experience the real Norway. Your ship sails along the beautiful Norwegian coastline, deep into the heart of this breathtaking landscape. These working ships voyage into fjords, inlets and ports that other larger ships can't reach. Observe the Midnight Sun of summer and the ever-changing seasons that set the rhythm of life for local people. There's no better way to enjoy the truly Norwegian way of life than on one of Hurtigruten's Norwegian Coastal Voyages.
The Norwegian coastline has been home of Hurtigruten since its founder, Richard With, forged a route between Trondheim and Hammerfest back in 1893. Since then their ships have become an essential service between the cities, towns and communities, ferrying local passengers, goods and travellers.
Hurtigruten's Classic Voyages are characterised by the seasons: in the spring, Norway's shores are once again warmed by the returning sunlight, reinvigorating life along the coastline. As it soars higher and higher each day, the sun works hard to warm the frozen land. As spring leads into summer the Land of the Midnight Sun turns night to day, with the extended sunlight illuminating the landscape for a full 24 hours a day whilst you sail above the Arctic Circle, making every 'night' a joy to behold.
As summer fades into autumn, watch the coastline transform from one season to another. Enjoy the clean air and the hues of reds and yellows that cover the mountains, hills and forests. A winter expedition along the coast of Norway is a refreshing experience with a snow-covered landscape and air that is clean, fresh and crisp. Winter is a great opportunity to explore Norway's northern extremes with Hurtigruten, when you can experience a mesmerising winter wonderland and hopefully see the spectacular Northern Lights.

The Classic Voyages offer 12, 7 and 6-day options. The 12-day Classic Round Voyage with Hurtigruten, from the cultural centre of Bergen to Kirkenes and back again, is the ultimate journey. The ports visited by night on the northbound cruise are revealed when visited in daylight on the southbound journey. In the larger towns and cities you will have plenty of time to go ashore or join one of the varied excursions.
During the winter months, Hurtigruten offer their Northern Lights voyages, which can include the Classic Voyages as well as shorter 5 and 6-day voyages during which you remain well above the Arctic Circle. On these voyages, you can maximise your chances of seeing the elusive Northern Lights.
With 120 years of nautical know-how, Hurtigruten provide a cruise experience that goes beyond the bounds of other cruise ships, offering expertise on voyages that will surpass your expectations and give you a chance to encounter habitat, fauna and local people at the very ends of the Earth.
Join the MS Fram and discover some of the World's least visited shores including Spitsbergen, Greenland and Antarctica. Each adventure is a voyage through untouched habitats that can only be accessed by ship encountering contrasting communities, awesome wildlife and captivating cultures. Hurtigruten will take you to places that have historically been out of reach for the majority of people, other than the brave few.
Whilst on board, you are encouraged to relax, unwind and simply enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the places you visit while you silently glide through the water. You may also wish to join any of the informative onboard lectures given by the knowledgeable Expedition Team.
