Hurtigruten - Bergen City Stay
Surrounded by seven mountains, Bergen is the gateway to Norway's magnificent fjord region and the starting point of your Hurtigruten Voyage. The city was founded in 1070 and is steeped in history. Visit the old Hanseatic warehouses on "Bryggen" or take a step back in time on a stroll through the steep and narrow alleyways of "old Bergen".
The hometown of the famous composer, Edvard Grieg, Bergen is also a centre for culture, with a concert hall, theatres and art galleries and every spring the city hosts an international music festival.
Enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Fish Market, visit the Aquarium, take a trip on the Funicular Railway to Mount Fløyen where, on a clear day, there are magnificent views of the city and its surroundings.
From Bergen you can take the famous Norway-in-a-Nutshell excursion which you can book to compliment your stay. Breakfast is included at your hotel, giving you the chance to sample some of the city's many fine restaurants - the fish restaurants here are among the best in Norway.
